SUPPORTING PRODUCTION OF BIOLOGICAL CONTROL AGENTS FOR SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE

YOUR CHALLENGES

The ability of a biological control agent to survive in the soil or on the surface of a plant is strongly impacted by their production.

Sustainable agriculture emphasizes the adoption of biological methods such as the use of beneficial microorganisms to improve soil and plant health. Biological methods exclude the use of genetically modified organisms, the use of synthetic fertilizers, and the use of chemical inputs such as pesticides and herbicides.

Sustainable agriculture reliers on solutions which combine nontoxic biological control agents, such as microbial inoculants, and cost-effectiveness. Derived from natural materials from non-animal and non-GM origin, yeast-based nutrients used for microbial inoculant production directly influences a microorganisms’ ability to survive in either soil or on the surface of plants.

The use of yeast-based nutrients as reliable nitrogen sources to produce bacteria (such as Bacillus spp, Pseudomonas sppBradyrhizobium spp.) and fungi (like Trichoderma spp.) is the better solution for sustainable agriculture.

USE LyCel® TO OUTPRODUCE YOUR COMPETITORS

LyCel® is free of GMOs, and is not produced using animal-based origins*

You will benefit from its long shelf life.

Your microorganisms will produce increased numbers of spores and more biomass.

LyCel® accelerates growth, which results in a shorter lag phase.

You can use this medium to grow fungi, bacteria, and nematodes.

* This makes it easier for you to get EPA certification to use your product on crops intended for human consumption.

WE CAN HELP YOU MAXIMIZE SPORULATION EFFICIENCY IN Bacillus thuringiensis INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURE.

Biopesticides producing microorganisms can be cultivated in liquid, solid state, and semi-solid media. Most of commercial production is achieved through batch fermentation using a complex mixture of ingredients such as glucose, minerals, and a nitrogen source.

With the LyCel® range of yeast extracts and yeast peptones, Procelys supports the production of biological control agents, such as Bacillus thuringiensis which produces parasporal insecticidal crystal proteins or endotoxins which are lethal for numerous pest insects.

The LyCel® range of yeast-based nutrients provides a unique and balanced composition of complex micronutrients such as amino acids, peptides,  minerals and other elements which ensure robust microbial growth and cell activity in a wide range of biocontrol microbial species.
