MAXIMISING YOUR PRODUCTION OF METABOLITE AND PROTEIN PRODUCTION, A CASE WITH STREPTOCOCCUS ZOOEPIDEMICUS.

In a collaborative effort with a customer in the hyaluronic acid industry, Procelys has developed a solution to replace vegetable nitrogen sources with allergen-free materials. This replacement allowed the customer to maintain yield stability and have an allergen-free production process. With the NuCel® range, critical yeast extract components were closely monitored to stabilize the production performance of both short and long molecular weight hyaluronic acids using Streptococcus zooepidemicus.

Through co-development with the customer, a product was tailored to meet their specific requirements addressing both the challenges of reducing fermentation time and of increasing metabolite production. The support of Procelys during the customer’s innovation journey was successful thanks to the expertise of the development and applications team in the field of bioingredients. The outcome was not only the replacement of allergen sources with allergen-free materials but also an overall improvement in the performance and stability of the production process.
